Flyway (2014) Set design commissioned for Ballet Memphis in collaboration with choreographer Steven McMahon; River Project III: Moving Currents Performance; Playhouse on the Square Memphis
Flyway was an original piece inspired by the North American route of avian migration known as the Mississippi Flyway. The set included two 2-sided 19ft tall islands on rolling casters so they may be rearranged to configure different “spaces”. The inspiration for the design was the North American route of avian migration known as the Mississippi Flyway. The brilliant choreography by Steven McMahon and the visual elements within the set design are both meant to reference the patterns and peculiarities of birds.
